Tamworth Distilling Dunce Series 001

From Tamworth, New Hampshire, this is the first whiskey to be crafted to go along with a book, in this case “Brand Mysticism,” by Steven Grasse and Aaron Goldfarb. Grasse has created a wide range of successful spirits, most notably Hendrick’s Gin. Dunce Whiskey, despite its name, is anything but: It’s a creamy, generous sipper with distinct flavors and aromas of orange creamsicle, crushed-peanut-coated apples, and candy corn.

 

Hudson Whiskey NY “Short Stack” New York Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Maple Syrup Barrels

What’s in a name? Everything you need to know, here: This whiskey practically vibrates with notes of syrup-drenched pancakes, as well as maple-butter biscuits flecked with just a bit of cracked black peppercorn. The balance of sweet and savory is very well-calibrated.
