Tamworth Distilling & Mercantile in Tamworth, N.H., is creating a national buzz with obscure, handcrafted creations.
Tamworth Distilling’s current lineup includes whiskey, several gins, vodka, tamarind cordial and more. Unlike many spirits brands, everything is made in-house, including the neutral grain spirit base used in most of the spirits — which is made with local rye, corn and malt from neighboring farms.
The Good Reverend’s Universal Spirit is a sought-after bottle that is touted as a “customizable spirit” that everyone can enjoy.
The “Art in the Age” series features spirits that go the extra mile when it comes to local ingredients. You’ll often find distillers Jamie Oakes and Matt Power foraging everything from sweet potatoes and cranberries to mushrooms and beetroot for this venture.
