Mavea Water Filtration system
If you’re not familiar with my perfect cup of tea formula, now’s the time to acquaint yourself with it:
W+3T = Perfect Cup of Tea
W = delicious pure water and 3T = temperature, time, and tea (excellent whole-leaf tea, of course). It almost goes without saying that no tea can be outstanding without first starting with optimal water.
A Pint of Plain
The heretic had gone back to his errors, the inquisitor shouted to the villagers over the roar of the flames and the wails of the dying, “like a dog returning to his vomit!”
Pleased with that chapter-closing sentence, I decided to return to my beloved bike path. It had been a long day of torture and burning.
SNAP Cocktail Competition at Liberties Walk
Mon., Sept. 13, 7 p.m., free (with RSVP)
Art in the Age's new gingernsnap-inspired liquor, SNAP, is being introduced into the local market in a big way with this competition, pitting Philly's top cocktail mixers against each other in a battle for boutique booze supremacy. Bartenders from Adsum, Oyster House, Tweed, Valanni, Village Whiskey, Union Trust, Zavino and many other spots will try their hands at making tasty SNAP-based drinks. Judging: William Grant & Sons' ambassador/mixologist Charlotte Voisey; master sommelier Melissa Monosoff of Savona; and yours truly. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and $5 signature drinks for the crowd. Admission is free, but space is limited so an RSVP is required; email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot. Liberties Walk (between El Camino Real and Bar Ferdinand), 1040 N. Second St., artintheage.com.
