The Imbiber Show’s Holiday Drink Gifts Ideas
The always entertaining Imbiber Show podcast hosted by Playboy magazine’s Dan Dunn gave listeners a few drink-related Holiday gift ideas today.
Art In The Age, the makers of Root, boast that this is the “First truly authentic American liqueur since the Pre-Prohibition Era.” Its also one of the few organic alcohol beverages your going to find. Made of birch bark, smoked Black Tea, sugar cane, sassafras, orange and lemon peel, allspice, anise, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg, Root sounds like a cake your mom is baking for dessert. But according to Dunn its actually quite tasty. History tells us that Root Beer was invented during the temperance movement when the alcohol was removed from “Root Tea.” Art In The Age has simply turned back the hands of time to when drinking was legal (the first time). Root is in limited quantity and pretty much unavailable outside of Pennsylvania. However, you can buy it for $29.99 HERE. Not sure if this stuff is Margaret Schroeder approved though.

The New Age of Whiskey
"From Manhattans To Modern Concoctions, whiskey cocktails have been reborn"
Serious times call for serious spirits. And when it comes to their spirit of choice, whiskey drinkers rival sports fans in their passion and allegiance. Brown spirits-spelled whiskey if distilled in Ireland or America, and whisky if made in Scotland, Canada or Japan-have a newfound popularity. If you need anecdotal proof, just head to the trendiest bars and restaurants in you area, where you'll most likely find several whiskey-based cocktails taking center stage on the menu.

Cranberry Cooler, Cranberry Sauce & MAVEA Elemaris Review
By allyson | Published: November 16, 2010
Recently I was contacted by the fine folks at MAVEA to do a product review of the Elemaris water filter pitcher.
I eagerly agreed because I have the hardest time downing water, and any excuse to drink more is fine by me. Even though I run 2 miles every day and crave water quite often, I still get far less water intake than I should. The main reason? Taste. I always “taste” something when I drink water from the tap, so I tend to cover it up with lots of lemon or lime juice and crushed ice, which is a pain (I’m so lazy!). So I usually just drink coffee.

Yummy Fall Drinks
I took a photo of this drink menu when FI and I were out at Plough and the Stars (a bar/restaurant in Philly). We also tried more than half of the drinks - seriously so delicious! I thought they might make good choices for signature cocktails for our fall brides!
