Jansport Super Break Anniversary

06/01/2004

Quaker City Mercantile (formerly known as Gyro Worldwide) auctions custom designed Super Break bags for Jansport's 25th anniversary.

Just in time for the new school year, Jansport - makers of the iconic Super Break book bags - has joined with local brand consultant boutique Quaker City Mercantile (formerly known as Gyro Worldwide) to issue a series of 40 artist-designed book bags in honor for Jansport's 25th anniversary.

Among the artists commissioned for the project are Philadelphia designers Elsa B. Shadley, who came up with the "Chalkboard Bag," and Gerik Forston, who designed the "Stegosaurus Bag," a wearable ode to the spiky reptile. July 1 though Aug. 31, Jansport will auction the bags online, and all proceeds will go to local, nonprofit artists' collective Vox Populi. Through Aug. 31, inspired amateur designers can also enter a competition to design their own limited edition Super Break bag (and win $1,000 in the process). Enter the contest or view and bid on one of the 40 bags at www.super-break.com
