Lilly Pulitzer
50 years ago, a wealthy socialite by the name of Lilly eloped to Palm Beach with Peter Pulitzer (of Pulitzer-prize fame), and started a juice stand that soon led to a clothing line that has since grown into one of the most iconic and recognizable designer clothing brands in the world. In early 2008, they called Quaker City Mercantile and told us they wanted us to help them turn up their brand voice and rethink their online presence. We said, "certainly!"
First, we completely redesigned their website so that it clearly spoke to Lilly Pulitzer's unique positioning as the only lifestyle brand that captures the essence of Palm Beach living with New York sophistication. The site centers on Lilly's core differentiation, print and pattern, and brings the brand to life through the telling of each print and pattern's distinctive story. These stories also serve to lead visitors into the site's new e-commerce section.
In order to extend the brand's online presence and further communicate the ins and outs of the Lilly lifestyle, we also developed A Colorful Blog, an external lifestyle blog that talks about anything and everything Lilly. The blog not only drives traffic back to the main website, but also allows Lilly-related content to be picked up by other blogs and websites.
After we retooled their web presence, we helped Lilly Pulitzer develop an entire yearlong program of promotions and events to celebrate their 50th year anniversary. There's even going to be a Lilly-print Jeep, a Lilly-print Steinway piano, and Lilly Monopoly. It's going to be a party that's not to be missed.
