The Chuckler
The Chuckler is Quaker City Mercantile’s long running, critically acclaimed and publicly adored blog where “the Internet's most absurd, ridiculous and irreverent content is collated for a good old-fashioned laugh.” The blog can trace its origins as far back as early 2005 when it was first published as a snarky trend-spotting rag under the name Vulture Droppings—a name and concept that N.Y. Magazine would later both embrace and rip-off in one, fell, intellectual-property-coup swoop. Regardless, as they say in the blogosphere “the show must go on,” and that The Chuckler has while proving an invaluable tool to Quaker City Mercantile.
The blog—along with its partner in crime, our music blog The Walrus—serves as an in-house think tank and laboratory for all of Quaker City Mercantile’s blogging and social networking endeavors. We are able to use The Chuckler to constantly improve our skills as bloggers and content creators, as well as stay at the forefront of the technological advances in blog development. Similarly, The Chuckler’s diverse social networking enterprises allow us to remain at the vanguard of social networking trends and have built us a vast networks of Internet contacts who help us disseminate content all over the Web. Indeed, these pursuits and our new media savvy have benefited clients many times over.
