In the spring of 2009, Philadelphia's own Independence Seaport Museum contacted Quaker City Mercantile and told us that they were planning an exhibit about the tattoo culture of American sailors. They wanted to know if we could contribute anything to the show through our Sailor Jerry brand (Sailor Jerry is the father of the old school tattoo). Of course we said yes.

Quaker City Mercantile donated several pieces of original Sailor Jerry flash art to the exhibit, and made our critically acclaimed, Quaker City Mercantile produced film about the man himself, "Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry" available for a VIP screening at the museum. We also held an after party featuring Sailor Jerry Rum. A great time was had by all, especially Quaker City Mercantile. After all, you know your brand is doing pretty well when museum curators want to put it on display for the whole world to see.
