Several years ago, ECCO's founders got seriously into playing golf. Of course after playing for a while, they decided to try to make their own golf shoes and apparel—after all, it only made sense for them to apply ECCO's unique blend of unrivaled comfort, state-of-the-art technology and Danish design sensibilities into a brand new approach to golfing equipment. ECCO launched the brand, and after about a year of mediocre sales came to Quaker City Mercantile and hired us to help them reboot the brand.

What we saw in ECCO Golf was a brand that needn't be the most common brand in the clubhouse, just the best and most coveted. Quaker City Mercantile sought to establish ECCO Golf as the brand that's pushing the game of golf forward with its proprietary mastery of comfort through unique Danish design and superior
technology. We wanted to communicate that the ECCO golf brand provides its wearers with the necessary comfort to achieve their goals and beyond.

Leveraging the professional players that were voluntarily wearing ECCO's golf shoes, we created a new print campaign that combined high-end, sophisticated graphic style and photography with factual and technical content that told players what actually made ECCO golf shoes so extraordinary. The ads showed golfers
in non-traditional poses that both allowed for the work to remain focused on the featured ECCO equipment, and set it apart from more traditional golf advertising. Any golfer exposed to the ads came away with the sense that ECCO Golf represented a superior proposition and, therefore, must be considered.

The work was the perfect blend of high-end graphics and performance sport marketing held together with the overarching theme of "the power of comfort," and Quaker City Mercantile still serves as the ECCO Golf brand's global agency today.
