Quirk Books, publishing industry masters of works of "irreference" such as the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Guide series, submitted an RFP to Quaker City Mercantile in the fall of 2008. So impressed had they been with Quaker City Mercantile's non-traditional viral marketing promotion work for The Evil Empire  that they were curious what interesting ideas we could come up with for their website redesign. They wanted to incorporate additional content from their books to provide a more robust website that would encourage their audience to spend more time on the site researching and exploring their books. Our complete site redesign achieved exactly that.

Quaker City Mercantile took their existing book-centric content and seamlessly integrated a mixture of supplementary, always changing content that allows for Quirk and its authors to keep the site fresh and interesting. It's almost as if the site was running a blog, but the content is broken up into different types of
content and served up in easily accessible sections such as Hot Topics, How-Tos, Quizzes, Quirk and Customer Picks, Printables, and Media & Blog postings. The new site's simple and clean design speaks to the type of the "irrefferent" books that Quirk publishes, as well as takes advantage of the new content areas and highlights them for easy customer access.

All in all, the new site achieved exactly what Quirk was looking for when they first came to us, and we got it all done well within their predefined budget constraints.
