Boyds Philadelphia is the kind of old school and upscale, family-owned department store that you don't find around too often anymore. They also weren't the typical Quaker City Mercantile client when they came to us in 2000 to help them revive their brand. We readily agreed, because our mythical powers of strategic brand reinvigoration aren't limited to viral music programs, Twitter accounts and blogs.

Over the nine years that Quaker City Mercantile served as Boyds' agency of record, we transformed them from a stuffy men's department store into a trendy designer shopping destination for the whole region. First, we worked our connections to book internationally-recognized fashion photographers to shoot our Boyds fashion shoots at bargain prices for high-end print and outdoor work. Then we branded the 3rd floor of the store, appropriately named B3, as a super hip and trendy designer fashion store-within-a-store for younger folks.

Quaker City Mercantile also developed special promotional events like trunk shows and mixers to promote Boyds' expanded women's offerings, jewelry store and in-store gourmet café. Finally, we designed Boyds a brand new website to showcase their collections and allow for future expansion into e-commerce if they so choose.
